Heart valve mismatch: does it impact your exercise and heart health years later?
NCT ID NCT00854698
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 77 patients under 60 who had a mechanical aortic valve replacement. Researchers wanted to see if a mismatch between the valve size and the patient's body affects heart remodeling and exercise capacity years later. Participants did stress tests and heart ultrasounds to measure oxygen use and heart function. The goal is to understand long-term effects, not to test a new treatment.
