New hope for heart surgery patients whose blood thinners fail
NCT ID NCT06096116
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests a medicine called Atenativ, made from a natural blood protein, in people having heart surgery. Some patients don't respond well to the standard blood thinner heparin, which can cause complications. The trial will see if Atenativ helps restore heparin's effect, making surgery safer. About 120 adults will take part, receiving either Atenativ or a placebo.
