Summary
This study tested whether washing surgical implants with a special antimicrobial solution called Taurolidine can prevent serious infections. It involved 28 patients who had trauma surgery where metal plates, screws, or joint replacements were implanted. Researchers compared infection rates in these patients to historical data to see if the wash made a difference.
