Hidden drug dangers in elderly care uncovered
NCT ID NCT07165574
Summary
This study looks back at the medical records of 100 frail older adults in Denmark to see how many were taking medications with anticholinergic effects. These drugs, found in many prescriptions, can cause side effects like confusion, constipation, and dry mouth, especially when several are taken together. The research aims to measure how common these drugs and their side effects are in this vulnerable group to raise awareness among doctors.
