New drug fights dangerous virus in transplant patients

NCT ID NCT05769582

Summary

This study tested a new drug called AntiBKV to see if it could safely reduce BK virus levels in the blood of kidney transplant recipients. The virus can damage the new kidney. 95 participants received either the drug or a placebo through four IV infusions over several months. Researchers measured virus levels and checked kidney health with biopsies to see if the treatment worked.
