Do antibiotics weaken baby vaccines? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT06079606
Summary
This study aims to understand if receiving antibiotics very early in life affects how well a baby's immune system responds to their routine childhood vaccines. Researchers are following 200 healthy, full-term infants in Iceland, comparing those exposed to antibiotics during birth or shortly after to those who were not. They will measure antibody levels in blood and saliva after vaccinations and analyze gut bacteria from stool samples to look for connections.
