NCT ID NCT07314281

Summary

This small pilot study is testing if an intravenous antibiotic called azithromycin works as well as a more expensive one called meropenem for treating typhoid fever that is resistant to most drugs. The study will enroll 40 patients in Pakistan to see which drug clears the infection faster and reduces fever. Researchers will also compare the cost of each treatment and monitor for side effects.
