Summary

This large study is testing if soaking breast implants in a special antibiotic solution right before surgery can prevent infections and other problems that might require removing the implant later. It involves over 1,000 women having breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Participants are randomly assigned to receive implants soaked in either the antibiotic mix or a harmless saltwater placebo.
