First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding antibiotic powder directly into the joint during hip or knee replacement surgery can reduce infections better than just giving antibiotics through an IV. About 1,832 adults having a first-time or aseptic revision joint replacement will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the extra antibiotic powder helps prevent short- and long-term infections.
