Study tests putting antibiotic directly in wound to stop Post-Surgery infections

NCT ID NCT07478874

Summary

This study tested if adding an antibiotic directly into a surgical wound during an operation works better than the standard method of giving antibiotics through an IV alone. It involved 284 adults having planned surgeries like hernia repairs. The goal was to see if the combined approach prevented more wound infections in the 30 days after surgery.
