Summary
This study compares two antibiotics, cefazolin and ceftriaxone, to see which one is better at preventing Propionibacterium acnes infections during shoulder surgery. About 88 adults having open shoulder surgery will receive one of the antibiotics before their procedure. The goal is to find out if ceftriaxone reduces bacteria on the skin more effectively than the current standard, cefazolin.
