Brain-Training rehab aims to stop chronic ankle pain and Re-Injury

NCT ID NCT03663361

Summary

This study is testing a new type of physical therapy for people with a recent ankle sprain. It compares a standard rehab program to a new 'SMART' program that includes exercises designed to retrain the brain and nervous system's control of the ankle. The goal is to see if the new program leads to fewer re-injuries, less chronic ankle instability, and better long-term ankle health over one year.
