Keyhole vs open surgery: which fixes unstable ankles better?

NCT ID NCT02998333

Summary

This study compared two standard surgical approaches for repairing chronically unstable ankles. Researchers wanted to see if a minimally invasive 'keyhole' (arthroscopic) technique leads to better functional recovery than traditional open surgery. They followed 41 adults whose ankles remained unstable after sprains and conservative treatments, measuring pain, stability, and function for 6 months after surgery.
