New ankle fix could have patients walking sooner

NCT ID NCT06085586

Summary

This study is testing a new device called the Fibulink System for repairing serious ankle fractures and ligament injuries. The main goal is to see if the device holds the ankle joint securely enough to allow patients to put their full weight on it while wearing a protective boot just 4 weeks after surgery, which is sooner than current methods typically allow. Researchers will follow 56 patients for 6 months to check if the repair stays in place and to monitor recovery.
