New ankle fracture pain shot could reduce need for opioids

NCT ID NCT03696199

Summary

This study compares three approaches to manage pain after ankle fracture surgery. Researchers want to see if a long-acting local anesthetic injection at the surgical site works as well as or better than a regional nerve block or standard pain medications. The goal is to find effective pain control methods that might reduce the need for opioid painkillers after surgery.
