Scientists probe why weak ankles fail when tired
NCT ID NCT07252219
Summary
This study aims to understand how muscle fatigue affects a person's ability to sense and control ankle force, particularly in those with chronic ankle instability. Researchers will compare 50 participants—some with unstable ankles and some without—by having them perform ankle exercises until tired, then testing their control. The goal is to gather knowledge about why unstable ankles might be more prone to giving way, which could inform future rehabilitation approaches.
