Scientists test how Worn-Out ankles handle surprise trips

NCT ID NCT07273097

Summary

This research study aims to understand how tired ankle muscles affect walking stability when people encounter unexpected trips or pushes. Researchers will compare 40 participants—some with chronic ankle instability and some without—by having them walk on a treadmill that gives small, random pushes while measuring their muscle activity and balance. The goal is to gather knowledge about how ankle fatigue contributes to instability, which could inform future prevention or rehabilitation approaches.
