Scientists test living cell treatment for Worn-Out ankles

NCT ID NCT02537067

Summary

This study tested whether Chondron, a treatment made from a patient's own cartilage cells, could repair damaged ankle cartilage. Researchers enrolled 28 people with moderate to severe cartilage defects and followed them for 18 months after surgery. The trial was terminated early, but aimed to see if the cell therapy could help regrow healthy cartilage and improve ankle function.
