Can therapy dogs help wake up the brain?
NCT ID NCT06931665
Summary
This study is testing whether animal-assisted therapy can improve brain activity in patients who are in a minimally conscious state. Researchers will measure brain signals, heart rate, and skin responses in 26 patients before, during, and after therapy sessions with animals. The goal is to see if interacting with animals can increase brain complexity, which is linked to higher levels of awareness.
