New monitor may predict heart slowing during nose surgery

NCT ID NCT07435870

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a device called the Analgesia Nociception Index (ANI) can predict and prevent a sudden drop in heart rate (trigeminal cardiac reflex) during nasal septoplasty. About 90 adults having nose surgery will be monitored with either standard tools or the ANI device. The goal is to see if ANI-guided care reduces these heart rate drops and improves safety during surgery.
