Better pain relief for dialysis patients?
NCT ID NCT07259772
Summary
This study is testing which of two common numbing medicines works better for patients having surgery to create a dialysis access point in their arm. Forty patients with kidney failure were randomly given either ropivacaine or lidocaine during the procedure. Researchers are tracking pain levels, surgery details, and how well the access point functions for up to five years to see if one medicine leads to better comfort and longer-lasting results.
