Weight and anesthesia: study probes risks for High-BMI births

NCT ID NCT07367386

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to see how well spinal or epidural anesthesia works during planned C-sections for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 45 or higher. It aimed to find out if higher weight makes the anesthesia more likely to fail, requiring general anesthesia instead. The researchers also checked for related health outcomes for both the mother and the newborn.
