Brain protein could predict anesthesia response in seniors
NCT ID NCT07280663
Summary
This study aimed to understand if a specific protein in the brain fluid, linked to cognitive health, could predict how sensitive older adults are to a sedative drug called remazolam. Researchers studied 128 patients aged 60 and over who were having knee replacement surgery. They measured the protein level and observed how quickly patients fell asleep and woke up after receiving the sedative.
