Safer sedation for seniors: study tests anesthesia options to reduce breathing risks during common procedure

NCT ID NCT07017283

Summary

This study compares two types of anesthesia during ERCP procedures in patients aged 60 and older. Researchers want to see which method causes fewer breathing problems and complications around the time of surgery. They're testing deep sedation without a breathing tube against general anesthesia with a breathing tube to determine which is safer for elderly patients.
