Wake up faster after surgery? study tests two anesthesia cocktails

NCT ID NCT07443163

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common anesthesia additives helps patients wake up faster and with less pain after back surgery. Researchers will compare magnesium sulfate against dexmedetomidine, both given alongside standard IV anesthesia, in 40 adults having planned spine operations. The main goal is to see which drug shortens the time it takes to safely remove the breathing tube after surgery.
