Study tests which anesthesia helps seniors wake up clearer after surgery

NCT ID NCT07289945

Summary

This study compared two common anesthesia drugs (desflurane and sevoflurane) to see which helps older patients wake up faster and think more clearly after non-heart surgery. Researchers measured how quickly 81 patients aged 60+ could open their eyes, follow commands, and achieve stable vital signs after anesthesia. The goal was to determine if one drug offers better recovery with less confusion for elderly surgical patients.
