Study probes which anesthesia helps seniors breathe easier after hip surgery

NCT ID NCT07309575

Summary

This study aims to understand if the type of anesthesia used during hip fracture surgery affects a patient's oxygen levels and recovery. Researchers will observe 102 patients aged 65+ who receive either general or spinal anesthesia, measuring oxygen and tracking complications like breathing issues and confusion. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially improve future care, but this study itself does not change any patient's treatment.
