Head-Down surgery position may trick anesthesia monitors

NCT ID NCT07467200

Summary

This study aims to understand if placing patients in a head-down position during laparoscopic hysterectomy surgery affects the brain monitors anesthesiologists use. Researchers will observe 60 adult female patients to see if this common surgical position changes the brain activity readings and oxygen levels the monitors display, even when the anesthesia dose stays the same. The goal is to help doctors better interpret these monitors to keep patients safely anesthetized.
