First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at 40 adults having a procedure to close off varicose veins using heat (radiofrequency ablation). Researchers compared two ways to numb the area: spinal anesthesia (numbing the lower body) and a nerve block near the hip. They measured how well patients recovered in the first 24 hours, their pain levels, and how satisfied they and their surgeons were.
