Doctors probe if spinal anesthesia reduces body stress during kidney stone removal

NCT ID NCT07326670

Summary

This study aims to understand if the type of anesthesia used during kidney stone surgery affects the body's inflammatory response. Researchers will compare spinal anesthesia (numbing the lower body) with general anesthesia (being fully asleep) in 90 adult patients. They will measure inflammation markers from simple blood tests taken before and after the procedure to see if one method causes less body-wide stress.
