First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at 40 adults having a procedure to close off varicose veins using heat (radiofrequency ablation). Researchers compared two types of numbing medicine: one that blocks feeling from the waist down (spinal anesthesia) and one that targets the groin area (nerve block). They measured how well patients recovered in the first 24 hours, their pain levels, and how soon they could walk again.
