Brain aneurysm surgery: is being awake or asleep better?
NCT ID NCT06416657
Summary
This study aims to find out if using general anesthesia (being fully asleep) or local anesthesia (being awake but numb) is better for patients having a minimally invasive procedure to treat an unruptured brain aneurysm. Researchers will randomly assign 188 patients to one of the two anesthesia methods and compare safety, recovery time, and how well patients do neurologically. The goal is to gather evidence to help doctors choose the best anesthesia approach for this delicate brain procedure.
