First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at 80 adults having open gynecological surgery to see if different amounts of anesthesia gas change the thickness of the nerve at the back of the eye. Researchers measured the nerve with ultrasound before and during surgery at several time points. The goal was to understand how gas flow affects the eye, not to treat any disease.
