NCT ID NCT04407715

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at how different amounts of anesthesia gas affect the size of the optic nerve sheath (the covering of the eye nerve) during open gynecological surgery. Researchers measured the nerve sheath using ultrasound in 80 adults before, during, and after surgery. The goal was to see if gas flow changes could impact eye nerve pressure, which may help improve anesthesia safety.
