Doctors test how anesthesia flow affects Patients' eyes during surgery

NCT ID NCT04407715

Summary

This study looked at whether using different amounts of anesthetic gas during open gynecological surgery affects pressure around the optic nerve in the eye. Researchers compared high-flow and low-flow anesthesia in 80 patients and used ultrasound to measure the nerve sheath diameter at specific times. The goal was to gather knowledge about anesthesia safety, not to treat or cure any condition.
