Does anesthesia flow affect brain pressure during surgery?

NCT ID NCT07514026

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at 64 women having laparoscopic hysterectomy to see if the type of anesthesia (high-flow or low-flow) changes pressure inside the head or oxygen levels in the brain. Researchers measured brain pressure using ultrasound of the eye nerve and brain oxygen with a special light sensor. The goal was to learn how these anesthesia methods affect the brain during surgery, not to test a new treatment.
