New anesthesia study aims to reduce choking and coughing after thyroid operations

NCT ID NCT07325669

Summary

This study aims to find which anesthesia method leads to fewer breathing problems like severe coughing or throat spasms when patients wake up from thyroid surgery. Researchers will compare two common techniques—one delivered through an IV drip and one through inhaled gas—in 100 adults having planned thyroid operations. The goal is to make recovery safer and more comfortable by reducing airway complications.
