Doctors probe how brain surgery drug affects anesthesia

NCT ID NCT06884657

Summary

This study aims to understand if a common medication given during brain tumor surgery (mannitol) changes the level of an anesthesia drug (propofol) in the body. Researchers will compare 40 patients having two different types of brain surgery—one group receives mannitol, the other does not. They will measure drug levels in blood and urine to see if adjustments to anesthesia dosing are needed for safety.
