Quieting the cough: new approach to smoother anesthesia

Summary

This study aims to see which of two pain medications causes less coughing when given to patients right before they go under general anesthesia for surgery. Researchers will compare Tiliglitidine and Sufentanil in 190 adults having planned surgery. They will carefully measure and grade any coughing that occurs in the two minutes after the medication is given.
