Could low blood counts after hip surgery hinder Seniors' recovery?

NCT ID NCT03810092

Summary

This study aimed to understand if having low red blood cell counts (anemia) shortly after hip fracture surgery affects how well patients aged 75 and older regain their independence. Researchers observed 255 patients to see if those with postoperative anemia were less able to perform daily activities like dressing and bathing six months later. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially improve future care, not to test a new treatment.
