Pelvic floor exercises may speed recovery after anal surgery

NCT ID NCT07250711

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doing pelvic floor exercises (called anal lift exercises) and following a special diet soon after anal fistula surgery can help reduce pain, bleeding, and discomfort. About 124 adults aged 18 to 55 who have had this surgery will be split into two groups: one gets the exercise and diet plan, the other gets standard care. The goal is to see if these simple steps lead to a smoother recovery.
