Could your own blood help heal a painful anal fistula?

NCT ID NCT05641844

Summary

This study is testing whether a treatment made from a patient's own blood can help heal anal fistulas better than a standard saline solution. About 110 adults with specific types of anal fistulas will have their fistula cleaned and closed, then receive either their clotted blood or saline inside the tract. Researchers will check if the fistula heals and stays closed over 12 months, while monitoring for safety and infection.
