Surgery showdown: which anal fissure operation heals faster?
NCT ID NCT07496216
Summary
This study compared two common surgical techniques for treating chronic anal fissures that haven't responded to creams and medications. Researchers randomly assigned 160 patients to receive either a 'closed' or 'open' version of the same core procedure. They tracked which method led to better healing, less pain, and a quicker return to normal life.
