New generic version of lifesaving fungal drug put to the test

NCT ID NCT06977490

Summary

This study tested if a new, potentially cheaper generic version of a powerful antifungal drug works the same way in the body as the original brand-name version. Healthy volunteers received both versions to compare how the drug is absorbed. The goal is to see if the new version is bioequivalent, meaning it could be a safe and effective alternative for treating serious fungal infections.
