Doctors test sterilized birth tissue to strengthen pelvic repair
NCT ID NCT06117670
Summary
This study tested whether adding a special, sterilized amniotic membrane (tissue from the inner layer of the placenta) as a graft during surgery could improve the repair of a posterior vaginal wall prolapse (rectocele). Twenty-five women aged 30-60 underwent the modified surgical procedure. Researchers measured if the graft helped reduce prolapse symptoms and improve sexual function over six months of follow-up.
