Healing power of the placenta: trial tests new wound dressing

NCT ID NCT07466576

Summary

This early-stage study aims to find the best way to sterilize a special membrane from human placenta (amniotic membrane) so it can be safely used as a biological dressing. The membrane will be applied to help heal chronic diabetic foot ulcers and certain eye ulcers. Researchers will compare different sterilization doses to see which one is most effective at killing germs while still helping wounds close and heal.
