First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether taking amla (Indian gooseberry) for two weeks could boost the effects of standard deep-cleaning treatment for chronic gum disease. Thirty adults with moderate to severe gum disease received either cleaning alone or cleaning plus amla. Researchers measured gum health and antioxidant levels over six months to see if amla provided extra benefit.
