New hope for tough leukemia: trial tests promising drug combo

Summary
This study is testing whether adding a new drug called L-Annamycin to a standard chemotherapy (cytarabine) works better than the standard chemo alone for adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that has come back or didn't respond to first treatment. The goal is to put the cancer into remission. It will enroll about 312 adults to find the best dose and see if the combination improves survival.
