Summary

This large study is testing if adding a drug called venetoclax to standard intensive chemotherapy helps adults newly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) live longer without their cancer returning. About 650 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real drug or a placebo alongside their chemo. The main goal is to see if this combination improves event-free survival, which is the time patients live without treatment failure, relapse, or death.
