Scientists create 'Avatar' mice to hunt for better leukemia drugs

Summary
This study aims to speed up the discovery of better treatments for acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Researchers will collect blood and bone marrow samples from 25 patients with AML who are receiving standard care. They will implant these human cancer cells into special mice to create 'avatar' models, which will then be used to test how well different drug combinations work.
